Kiting (land & water) Guidelines for

Bettystown, Co Meath

Home / Forum

As Bettystown gets busier with the summer, the local beach warden came up to us on the beach on May 2nd 2009  asking us if landkiters and kitesurfers could respect the following guidelines. If we all take note of these requests it will help keep Bettystown beach open for all kiters:

bettystown guidelines

- No parking beyond the ‘’No Parking Signs’’

Red line on the picture

- No kitesurfing allowed in the swimming area / lifeguard watch zone

Red pointille line on the picture

- Set Up area:

Walk pass the life buoys and set up after the last one

The beach warden will put a checker flag to sign post the set up area she is asking us to use

This does not mean we are allocated a designated launching and landing area.

When kitesurfing in Bettystown, please do watch out for the ship wreck – which is around 1 mile up the beach from the entrance –  as it still has plenty sharp rusty parts –
